Our team at Envoy loaded up a Chevy Bolt full of donations and volunteered with Drive By Do Gooders, a 501c3 non-profit organization that helps unhoused people and their pets in the Skid Row area of Los Angeles. The team spent the day handing out water, dog and cat food, bedding, collars, leashes and toys to unhoused pets in the area.
Skid Row is a neighborhood in downtown Los Angeles known for its high concentration of unhoused individuals, many of whom live with pets. These pets provide companionship, security, and a sense of purpose for their owners, and they are in desperate need of food, water and supplies. Drive By Do Gooders is an organization that helps to meet these needs by providing water and necessities to unhoused people. They launched their companion pet program in 2022 to also distribute food, leashes, and other pet supplies as well.
The Envoy team by was made up of employees from various departments, including operations, marketing, and community. They spent the day driving a Chevy Bolt through the streets of Skid Row, handing out bags of dog and cat food, leashes, and other supplies.
The team was moved by the stories of the unhoused pet owners they met, and the deep bond between them and their pets. They saw firsthand the importance of the work that Drive By Do Gooders does, and the difference it makes in the lives of both the people and the pets they serve.
