BMW i5 M60
Driver Guide
Everything you need to know before your first drive at The Grand by Gehry, Downtown LA.
Before you drive
This is the first BMW i5 M60 in the Envoy fleet. Take a minute to get familiar with a few things that are different from our other vehicles.
Book the BMW i5 M60 the same way you book any Envoy vehicle. Locate it in the app, reserve your time, and use the app to unlock the car. Your Envoy app is your key.
Once inside, press the brake pedal and push the Start/Stop button on the center console. The car will power on silently. The curved digital display will illuminate and greet you with an M animation.
Use the gear selector on the center console to choose D (Drive) or R (Reverse). The i5 features configurable M Modes that adjust throttle response and regenerative braking. Start in Comfort mode if you're new to the car.
How to charge the i5
The charge port is located on the driver's rear quarter panel. Here's what you need to know depending on where you're charging.
The fastest way to charge the i5. Look for ChargePoint, Electrify America, EVgo, or Blink DC fast chargers. Plug the CCS1 connector directly into the port on the driver's rear side. No adapter needed.
Up to 205 kW · 20-80% in ~25 minStandard Level 2 chargers at parking garages, retail centers, and public lots use a J1772 connector. The i5 M60 is fully compatible. Plug in and charge at up to 11 kW. Great for a top-up during an extended parking stop.
Up to 11 kW ACYes, with an adapter. The i5 M60 has a CCS1 port and can access Tesla Superchargers equipped with a Magic Dock (built-in CCS adapter) at no extra setup. For standard NACS Superchargers, a CCS1-to-NACS adapter is required. If this vehicle has a 2026 model year, it may come with a native NACS port and bundled adapters. If you're unsure, check the charge port door. When in doubt, look for a Magic Dock-equipped Supercharger or a dedicated CCS fast charger.
How far can you go
The i5 M60 has excellent range for everyday driving, but a few factors affect what you'll actually see on the dashboard.
EPA-estimated maximum range on a full charge. Real-world range will vary based on driving style, climate, and wheel size.
Sport mode drains faster. The i5 M60 has 593 hp on tap. Using it aggressively in Sport+ mode will reduce your range significantly compared to Comfort or Eco mode.
AC and heat use battery. Running climate control at full blast, especially heat in cold weather, can reduce your range by 10-20%.
Freeway speeds reduce range. Driving at 75+ mph uses more energy than city driving. Plan accordingly on longer trips.
Regen braking adds range back. In city driving, the regenerative braking system recovers energy every time you lift off the accelerator or brake.
The BMW curved display shows your real-time estimated range based on your recent driving patterns, current battery state, and climate settings. This is more accurate than any fixed figure. Before you leave, glance at the range estimate and plan your trip accordingly. If the car shows less than 30 miles of range remaining, please charge it before returning it so the next driver has a full (or near-full) vehicle.
The Grand by Gehry
The BMW i5 M60 is exclusively available at The Grand by Gehry on Grand Avenue in Downtown Los Angeles, a 45-story Frank Gehry-designed tower that defines the DTLA skyline.
The Envoy vehicle is parked in the building's garage. Check the Envoy app for the exact stall number and any posted signage near the EV parking area. Always return the vehicle to the designated Envoy spot.
The Grand is steps from the Walt Disney Concert Hall, The Broad Museum, and some of the best dining in Downtown LA. This car was made for that kind of drive.
